Brain Eating Ameoba' Attacks Swimmer
Those of you who remember "flesh eating bacteria" will cringe at this one: UPI is reporting a story about a 12 year-old boy who contracted a fatal 'brain-eating' infection while swimming in a Florida lake. As much as 48% of the lakes and some un-chlorinated pools in Florida host this lethal organism, which enters through the nose or ears, and quickly begins to attack the central nervous system.
