Coral Reef Photobank Feature Image: Octopus
It's Monday. That means I find a new image in the Coral Reef Photobank and post it on my weblog and the ICRIN site. Check it out. I posted an octopus. Right as I was deciding which picture to choose, I noticed an octopus had been added to the library. And "Octopus's Garden" was playing by the Beatles. I had iTunes on random play. How random.

San Francisco's DJ Amber

Amber is the grooviest dj in town. Last I saw her, she was tearing it up at Kelly's Mission Rock in SF. Her site just got a new look, courtesy of my buddy Nick Winterhalter, and it's hot.
Burning Man Bikes
We're off to see the man in a few days. Pictured below is our transportation. Lot's of faux fur and glue can give any bicycle a much needed face lift. Mine is the orange one... the animal bike belongs to Aimee. Click the photo to see the image in all its glory.
Computer recycling sweatshops
The BBC has a photo essay on Chinese recycling of discarded Western computer systems:
Photo journalist Jeroen Bouman gets a rare glimpse inside the illegal Chinese workshops where young teenagers work long hours amid noxious fumes, recycling computers from the US and Europe. The industry has turned four villages in Guiyu, Guangdong province, into toxic waste tips. Drinking water is now brought by lorries from 30 kilometres away. [ MacInTouch ]
G-Whiz makes fine jewelry
This weekend I happened upon a street vendor selling some righteous jewelry. If you are ever on Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley (Bancroft to Haste), check out G-Whiz; handcrafted jewels for your body and soul. I'll post a picture of my new ring later. It's far out.
