Osha Gray Davidson

2003.01.13 . .

I met Osha at a lecture he gave on his then new book, Fire in the Turtle House. I knew he wrote that book as well as The Enchanted Braid. I just learned he also wrote a book called, Under Fire: The NRA and the Battle for Gun Control. Way to go, Osha.

Reef Life

2003.01.13 . .

Reef Life, by Denise Nielsen Tackett and Larry Tackett, is a beautiful book of underwater sea creatures. Puchase directly from this page and CORAL will get a 10% donation.

coral, coral, coral!

Xceler8 Concepts Radio Weblog

Exceler8 Concepts weblog looks like a good one to check out. I found this through a referal link.

Berkeley YMCA

2003.01.13 . .

I'm going to take a tour of the Berkeley YMCA. Time to get fit(ter). Racquetball, anyone?

CamelBak

2003.01.13 . .

A picture named a_60032.jpgKeeping hydrated has really helped me make it through some tough hikes. These days, I'm constantly drinking from my CamelBak. It holds 100 oz. of water. I strap it on to the outside of my backback and route the hose to a clip on the front so I can easily sip on it at any time.

Raw Energy

2003.01.13 . .

Aimee really likes the smoothies at Raw Energy. This happening little juice bar makes the healthiest of snacks. My favorite is the little tofu burger that is surprisingly filling for it's size. Located in downtown Berkeley, Raw Energy is the perfect place to fuel up your body with some good food.

Rainbow Grocery

Good food is a must. Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco is a prime example of how to run a healthy grocery co-op.

Shoreline at Coast Camp

2003.01.13 . .

This is the coast near Coast Camp in California. It's today's photoblog entry. I camped there this weekend with some friends. It was beautiful, as you can see.

Coast Camp

2003.01.13 . .

It was just beautiful at Coast Camp this weekend. A few friends and other folk I got to meet and all of us here at the iceplant factory went camping at a spot on the incredible California Coast. We hiked in at night and were pleased to find the fire still raging on the beach, silhouettes lounging in a circle except where the smoke billowed taking with it some wayward embers.

The next day we all talked story and hiked over to Sculpture Beach where there were many strange things strewn about the beach. Take a look at the pictures. I'm so glad I went.
