Be In Spirit : BEATS NOT BOMBS - March 22nd

2003.03.18 . .

My good friend Manish told me about this event. Sounds like fun. I hope to see you there.

Please join one another for an amazing evening of dance, in two sonic arenas, on 12,000 sq ft of dancefloor, featuring some of the Bay Area’s best world groove DJs and dancefloor mavericks of the Asian and Arab underground sounds - its the dancefloor journey from Morocco to India via the elecronic beatscape of house, breaks and downtempo! A chai-scented excursion and saffron soaked groove into the deep casbah of sound. Its an unsurpassable line-up of talent. It is a night of community for peace and a time to sweat your prayers to the world!

Beats NOT Bombs features:

Special Appearance: Jai Uttal - mantras for peace!
Cheb I Sabbah (Six Degrees Records/1001 Nights)
Sep (Dubmission SF)
Janaka (Dhamaal)
Dragonfly (Groove Garden)
Nader (Arabeats.com)
C.B. (Yoga Tai Chi)
Rhythmystic (Beatstream.net)
Khaled (Six Degrees Records)
Belly dancers and live musicians!

This week at Elastiq

2003.03.18 . .

Got nothing to do Wednesday night? Check out Elastiq in San Francisco.

This week Elastiq brings two guests - John Berkeley (Broccoli) - a good friend and talented uprising beat master, and Dean Paul (Odd Recordings), a young and impressive dj with variety of mixing skills. The night will be wrapped up by our resident Zeel, throwing his new collection of techy stuff. Come on out, there is no day better for a party than a Wednesday night.
