Fire Arts Collective performance this Saturday
My friend, Shaina the firedancing goddess, is performing this Saturday night in Oakland. Check it out. It's gonna be hot!
Just wanted to warmly (and I mean warmly) invite you to the Crucible reopening in Oakland on Saturday, March 29. Our fire performance troupe, the Fire Arts Collective, will be performing a very short set of choreographed ensemble pieces w/ fire fans, jump rope and poi. We're on earlyish, like 11pm. The fantastic local troupes, Capacitor, Ultra Gypsy, Xeno, and more will knock your socks off.

For the last decade the Kurdish minority who live on the border of Iraq and Turkey have been caught between the brutal policies of the regime of Saddam Hussein and the government of Turkey, Iraq's northern neighbor. Investigative journalist Pratap Chatterjee traveled to south-eastern Turkey to find out how current events have affected this minority community. This week we present a special documentary that chronicles Kurdish life in the shadow of Iraq.
