Today, Aimee and I visited some friends around town on our bicycles. We ran into Mira, where I had the pleasure of meeting Yary, and we all went for a bike ride to Tilden Park. Both Mira and Yary have a dj radio history and Yary now posts some playlists to his site under the name, Song of the Moment (good).

Hopefully I'll be able to get both Mira and Yary to be guest dj's on iceplant radio.

Live sequencing software

Live has been getting some great reviews on Version Tracker.

Live 2 is the audio sequencer you can play like an instrument. It integrates complete multitrack recording and editing functionality - play your studio arrangements on stage, or record live improvisations and edit them in the studio. Even better, manipulate the speed and pitch of any audio while it is streamed from disk - with exceptional flexibility and fidelity.

Enironment California

2003.03.30 . .

I was approached by an Environment California worker at the Berkeley Farmer Market yesterday. I like what they are doing for our world. I asked him about the history of the organization and he said they were a splinter group of Cal-PIRG.

It takes independent research and tough-minded advocacy to win real results for our environment —especially when powerful interests stand in the way of environmental progress.

That’s the idea behind Environment California. We focus exclusively on protecting California’s environment, speaking out and taking effective action to improve the quality of our natural environment and our lives.

Moore's new movie: Farenheit 911

2003.03.30 . .

Michael Moore's new movie, called "Farenheit 911: The Temperature at Which Freedom Burns," will trace the economic ties between Bush administration officials and bin Laden, and chronicle the erosion of Consitutional freedoms in America in the wake of the 9-11 attack.

According to Moore, the former president had a business relationship with Osama bin Laden's father, Mohammed bin Laden, a Saudi construction magnate who left $300 million to Osama bin Laden. It has been widely reported that bin Laden used the inheritance to finance global terrorism.

Moore said the bin Laden family was heavily invested in the Carlyle Group, a private global investment firm that the filmmaker said frequently buys failing defense companies and then sells them at a profit. Former President Bush has reportedly served as a senior adviser with the firm.

"The senior Bush kept his ties with the bin Laden family up until two months after Sept. 11," said Moore.
