One reason I like to read Ottmar's weblog is that I learn a lot about how the music industry works. Wonder where the lines are drawn when playing Ottmar's music at home, a party, or cafe?

Coral is not fashion wear

I was alerted to a fashion shoot in the NY Times that I find rather disgusting. Shoes, necklaces, and other items with high price tags that are made up of precious coral from our ocean. The angle is that these items are chic. No, they are dead. And they are precious resources that don't belong on our bodies. Shame on NY Times for making this seem like something 'cool'.
