Checking in with Duane Silverstein

Duane Silverstein is the Executive Director of Seacology, a Berkeley, California based non-profit, dedicated to saving coral reefs and mangroves around the world. Seacology has adopted an unusual but effective approach to motivating small villages on island nations to join in this effort - the barter system.
I caught up with Duane at his office last week and asked him about his interest in the ocean, what inspires him to take action, and to explain how Seacology is saving coral reefs. Listen in...

MacTable Keeps on Ticking
In the late 80's or early 90's I purchased a MacTable. It's a beautiful design with shelfs that can be easily moved up or down at an angle. This desk has been in constant use for all that time and it still looks absolutely splendid. It has bowed a bit in the middle due to the whopping monitor I used to keep centered atop it.
I can't find these MacTable's anymore. There is some other business that took on the name of MacTable but it's not the same people. I believe my MacTable was created by a subsidiary of Scan Designs but I'm not sure.
