GreenCine Daily RSS feed now available as a full post
GreenCine rocks. I dropped NetFlix a while back when I heard that a bay area video rental alternative existed. GreenCine's web site has some interesting features like movie lists that are shared by it's members. This is a great way to find out what other people are watching.
They also have a blog and an excellent weekly newsletter. My rental queue grows by at least five movies every time they send me a newsletter. Excellent job on this. I hardly browse e-newsletters anymore but GreenCine is getting this right.
As an RSS geek, I subscribed to their blog right away. Too bad it's a Movable Type weblog which defaults to feeds that only contain the first sentence or two of a post, requiring subscribers like me to visit the site to read the entire post. Ugh. Give me the whole thing in my news reader please.
So, I asked my buddy, Canton for an account on his Movable Type system. He immediately gave me an account so I got to work. On a Google search I discovered this page, which explained how to modify the RSS template in Movable Type to provide full post RSS feeds. I tried it and it worked. So, I sent the URL and my plea to the editor, David Hudson, at GreenCine and now, I'm happy say, GreenCine now has a full post RSS feed.
Hi, Donovan,
A few months ago, you pointed me to your very helpful how-to on changing the set-up for the RSS feed. I've followed your instructions there as closely as possible, and now, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it all goes well. Either way, I do want to thank you - and to apologize for being so long about it. You know the drill: Several pans, several fires.
Thanks again,
David Hudson

NRP 10th Anniversary Celebration Audio Collage
National Radio Project turned 10 this year. NRP creates Making Contact, a weekly 1/2 hour audio documentary. Making Contact airs on over 150 stations and I'm proud that my sweetie, Aimee Pomerleau, is the Production Director. She works hard on each show, putting everything she's got into them.
For this year's 10th anniversary event, Aimee created a five minute audio collage of past Making Contact shows. Check it out for a good sense of what Making Contact covers every week.
