Aimee's latest show was many hours in the making. Be sure to tune in...

"The latest piece for the radio show Making Contact is a collage of voices from Iraq, Ghana, Venezuela, Palestine, Pakistan, India, England, and Mexico. On a personal level, this was quite an amazing piece to put together, waking up in the wee hours to call all corners of the globe. Most powerful was talking to people in Iraq, who just couldn't understand why or believe that the United States had 'elected' Bush.

My new Gateway Tablet PC

Skeptical of those Tablet PC's, I was. Until now. I just have to say that I love almost everything about my new Gateway m275 Tablet PC that transforms into a notebook. Or is it the other way around?

I have decided to fully embrace the Tablet PC aspect of this little machine, keeping the keyboard at bay as much as possible. The recognition engine in this thing is pretty amazing, figuring out most of what I scrawl into it with the pen. And navigating around is pretty intuitive and easy.

I'm having fun paying around with apps that I cannot get on Mac OSX, like Doppler, and some RSS news readers and such.

The main drawback is the weight. Unless I look at it from an exercise and health perspective. This thing is heavy.

The laptop is loaded with Win XP Tablet edition. It's been a while since I did any real work on PC's and using XP is a real pleasure compared to the days of old. Things just seem to work and I like many of the little details they've put into the OS. I still prefer my Mac OS X machines though.
