Artformula, on his recent trip abroad.: "Highlights would be stumbling onto a public park full of grazing deer in a foggy evening; watching the faces of french second graders awed by a massive frescoed ceiling; an old man standing in a park, feeding birds that fluttered at his outstretched hand; drinking Belgium beer in a warm cellar restaurant on a frosty night; laughing as we took shelter in the eaves of a gothic church from the sudden onslaught of a hailstorm; learning that cheese was the mainstay of the poor during a time of great medieval wealth or that a rabbit could be purchased with a handful of cocoa beans in ancient Mexico; watching the Eiffel Tower twinkle as we kept backing up to get the full tower in frame; celebrating Thanksgiving with hearty Turkish food; watching in amazement as skilled hands tousled thread-laden spools in an intricate lace-making dance; the earthy smell of ancient tombs; slices of fruit at the end of a meal; sculptures of naked forms writhing out of the stone; searching for unpronouncable street names on the sides of ancient buildings; the deep sleep of the footsore traveler; castles and foot bridges and horses and vine encased windows; deep draughts of satisfying coffee to wash down a bite of warm buttered bread; holding hands everywhere; lovely people speaking in a language you do not understand but fully comprehend; the stillness of morning water."

Panos London: Possible Freelance Opportunity
InterWorld Radio (IWR) is the online network of Panos London with more than 1,000 public-interest radio stations and journalists worldwide. IWR commissions short documentary features from local journalists, and distributes them globally for radio stations to download and rebroadcast for free.
IWR also produces a daily international news bulletin and supports local radio stations to produce discussion and magazine programmes. Participating radio stations are primarily in developing countries, although quite a large number of stations in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK use it.
