iceplant radio podcast for December 03, 2004

2004.12.03 . .

Good evening iceplant radio users. I've got three songs to play for you tonight and a little bit of jabber in between. Tune in.

Also, the iceplant radio listener comment voice mail system is now online. Call 1 (320) 386-1158 and leave me a message. I'm curious... who are you? Why do you read/listen to iceplant radio? Call up, leave a messge, and it just might appear in a future podcast.

Production notes.

Permission errors in Tracktion

2004.12.03 . .

Update: Tracktion didn't like the name of my folder. My folder is named "a.HotProjects***" but Tracktion seems to take away the stars, leaving "a.HotProjects" which is incorrect. I tried a different folder name and now it works. I'm using the OS X version.

I've been playing around with Tracktion and I'm finally ready to do some test recording. However, I hit the record button and up pops a little window that says the folder for the project either doesn't exist or is write protected. Both are not true. Can somebody help me?

New Podcast from Tod Maffin: Finding the Berlin Wall

2004.12.03 . .

Tod: "Here's a new podcast, live from Berlin. My adventures trying to find a piece of the Berlin wall -- it's kind of a funny outcome. 7 min in length."

I'm Digging Tracktion

2004.12.03 . .

I'm digging Tracktion, the audio mixing software from Mackie, which is now free.

Audacity is nice but it's crashed on me a couple of times now. I'm going to stick with Tracktion for now and see how it goes. Any other apps for OS X I should check out?

PlayPod, a new podcast collector

2004.12.03 . .

The folks at IGG Software have created a new podcatcher for OS X called PlayPod. I use iWork, another app by IGG every day to track my time for clients. Now I'll give PlayPod a spin to see if that becomes my podcasting aggregator of choice.

iceplant radio : search by ATOMZ

2004.12.03 . .

I've been using ATOMZ search engine for years now. I like the results and the web interface makes it easy to customize the template and read reports. After much hibernation, I finally updated the iceplant radio search pages to match the rest of the site.
