2 cd's and a mixer

2005.01.03 . .

Sir Canton bestowed upon me his DENON DN-2000FMKIII, a double CD player and remote control unit for DJ mixing. Gotta git to work on my beat matching. Fortunately, I kept a good eye on Indigo and thomas B at the Otherworld New year's eve party. Their sets were awesome and I hear it was recorded. If so, you can bet I'll play some on iceplant radio. Thanks, Canton!

Cosmos 7 DVD Set

2005.01.03 . .

Thanks to my Mum and Pop, I'm now the proud owner of The Cosmos 7 DVD Set! This is awesome! I remember good times soaking in Carl's scientific prose while my Mum and I were glued to the television screen.

GreenCine doesn't get RSS

2005.01.03 . .

I gave up Netflix for GreenCine. I feel good supporting a local operation and GreenCine's selection of movies is refreshingly fantastic; not the same old bullshit you'll find from the other crew.

I'm especially happy that GreenCine took my suggestion to provide full post RSS feeds in their informative GreenCine Daily weblog.

It's too bad that they don't implement RSS into their service more than this, though. For instance, there is a great feature called Lists. You can make different lists and add movies to these lists. I like it because I can see the lists others have made so I get ideas about what I want to rent. Unfortunately, these lists are not available as RSS feeds. If they were, I could subscribe to the movie lists I like and whenever they are updated, I'd know about it in my news reader. As of now, I hardly ever use lists because it requires a visit to the browser.

Netflix recently made their new releases available as an RSS feed. When I asked GreenCine if they intended to do likewise, and that I would subscribe to the feed, the response was disappointing.

I assume the answer to this is 'no' given our de-emphasizing the NR, but thought I'd pass the idea along just to be sure.

GreenCine, you can make more money and provide your customers with a richer movie watching experience if you provide us with RSS feeds. Make the lists available as an RSS feed, make the new releases available as an RSS feed. Make my history or rentals available as an RSS feed so I can easily see what I've watched. Make my queue an RSS feed.

Thanks for listening.

This is the funnest, most creative use of social networking I've seen yet.
